Western Mumbai, is relatively a modern suburb of Mumbai City, situated towards the west coast of Mumbai. This area started developing as an upmarket residential area. Residential districts such as Dader, Bandra, Khar & Juhu became more sought after when Bollywood Movie Stars starting residing in these places and made this upmarket area their homes.
Western Mumbai also saw development as both International & Domestic Airports are located here and th is resulted in Mumbai Hotels & other support infrastructure coming up around these Airports. Business Districts like, Andheri & Bandra Kurla Complex gave the much needed importance to Western Mumbai and no longer was South Mumbai the only place to do business in the City. Western Mumbai is famous for Nightlife, Restaurants, Malls & Departmental Stores you could spend the whole day exploring famous bazaars like Linking Road & Hill Road experiencing street shopping and at the same time walk into departmental stores that are stocked with branded products. Two cultures co exist in these places. |
